Moderation that listens

Healthy communities need clear rules and a fair way to raise concerns.

Notice: Planned Product Information

This documentation describes functionality and policies planned for the hosted Kookey social platform, targeting release in Q1 2027. The current public website is a static presentation and waitlist.

1.Explain the rules

People should be able to understand what content is allowed, what can be reported, and what may happen after a report. The proposed Community Guidelines give examples such as targeted harassment, exposing private information, harmful contact with children, and misleading or dangerous uploads.

The hosted service has no user reports or moderators available through this website. Report categories, staff responsibilities, and access to review evidence are not available yet. We’ll explain them before accounts open.

2.Leave room to appeal

Mistakes happen. A useful moderation process explains the decision, offers a route to ask for a second look, and uses a proportionate response where appropriate. The hosted app’s notice, appeal deadline, reviewer independence, and possible outcomes have not been confirmed. We’ll share those details before appeals are available.

The appeal process is still a design goal; no working appeal service is available yet. See Community Guidelines for the proposed rules and the Legal Contact page for current contact limitations.

3.What moderators may see

The service has not established moderator roles, access permissions, evidence retention, or whether any automated tools will assist review. Before moderation begins, the Privacy Notice will identify what staff can access and the policy will explain how access is limited, logged, and reviewed.

4.Transparency and limits

No moderation activity report or service statistics are available yet. The Transparency page describes the categories and methodology that should accompany a future report. Moderation cannot guarantee that every harmful post is found or every decision is correct.

5.What happens to a report

The reporting process is not available yet. When it is, we’ll explain what information to provide, how urgent concerns are handled, who may see evidence, how decisions are shared, and how to appeal. None of those steps exists on this public website. Before user reports open, the operator will publish the route and limits, identify the accountable team, and explain what happens if a report is outside kookey’s control.

6.Limit access to report information

A report may contain sensitive conversations, account details, or information about a child. The moderation access model has not been confirmed. We’ll explain who can view reports, how access is controlled, how long evidence is kept, and when information may be shared before reporting is available. No moderation access model or evidence-retention practice has been confirmed for kookey.
