Cookie & device storage notice
What the current kookey website stores in the browser, including the waitlist, and what it does not store.
1.Current public website
The current pages do not include analytics, advertising, or embedded third-party media. The waitlist form sends an email address to a Cloudflare Worker and does not set a cookie or store anything in the browser. A reusable sidebar preference feature in the website code could set a first-party cookie if it were added to a page and used, but no current page uses it. This implementation review was updated for the waitlist; it is not a browser scan of the production domain. The selected host and Cloudflare may process server-side request logs or add security controls, and those settings have not been verified.
2.When the app launches
The future social app may need session or security storage to keep a user signed in, prevent abuse, remember a privacy choice, or provide a requested feature. Each technology will be listed with its provider, name or identifier, purpose, storage duration, and whether it is first-party or third-party. Technologies used by a self-hosted instance are controlled by that instance’s operator.
3.Consent and device access
Article 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive generally requires prior consent before storing information on or accessing information from a user’s terminal equipment, except where the operation is strictly necessary to transmit a communication or provide a service explicitly requested by the user. If a technology processes personal data, the GDPR also applies to that processing. Serbia’s rules on electronic communications and personal data apply separately. The app will block technologies requiring consent until a valid choice is recorded, and will provide a settings link to change or withdraw that choice.

4.Meaningful choices
Where consent is requested, refusing optional technologies must be as straightforward as accepting them. The service will not use pre-selected optional categories as consent. A user can change the choice later without losing access to features that do not need those technologies. Browser settings can also clear or block cookies, but may sign a user out or disable a feature that depends on essential storage.
5.Cookie inventory
This inventory reflects a review of the current website implementation, not a captured browser session from the live domain. An empty inventory must not be read as proof that the production host sets no identifiers. The live site has not yet been checked in a clean browser session. We’ll update this inventory after checking which storage items appear before and after site interactions.
| Item or category | Finding from website review | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics or advertising storage | No analytics or advertising integration appears in the current page imports. | No matching integration found in source; live browser scan not performed. |
| Sidebar preference cookie | An unused shared sidebar component can set a first-party `sidebar_state` cookie for seven days if mounted and changed. | No current page imports the component; verify against the production build before publication. |
| Waitlist form | The form asks for an email address and sends it to a Cloudflare Worker; it sets no cookie. | Resend and Cloudflare provider terms and retention; no live browser scan yet. |
| Host or security identifiers | Not controlled by the frontend source reviewed here. | The live provider and configuration are not known yet. We’ll share these details after checking the production setup. |
6.How to change browser settings
Most browsers let you view or clear site data from their privacy or security settings. The exact menu names differ by browser and version; use the browser maker’s current help if you need step-by-step instructions. Clearing all site data may sign you out of other services or reset local preferences. Browser controls do not stop a web host from receiving the network request needed to deliver a page, and they do not replace any consent choice the service is required to offer.
