Acceptable use policy

Proposed limits on misuse of the planned hosted kookey service; no user accounts or service controls are available here.

1.Scope and relationship to other policies

This policy describes proposed rules for the hosted social service, which is not available on this website. The Terms cover the agreement and possible account actions. The Community Guidelines cover behavior and content. We’ll share instructions for authorized security reports before the hosted service opens. A self-hosted release and its operator rules have not been published.

2.Do not misuse the service

The proposed rules prohibit unlawful activity, threats, harassment, exploitation, impersonation, exposure of private information, malware, phishing, scams, and conduct intended to compromise an account or device. Examples include posting a password-reset trap, sharing a participant’s private address to intimidate them, or coordinating repeated false reports. A specific criminal or legal classification depends on the facts and applicable law; this policy is not a legal determination.

3.Respect access and technical limits

Use only accounts, storage, and instance resources you are authorized to access. Do not probe another user’s account, evade a limit, bypass authentication, overload a service, or interfere with someone else’s ability to use it. The hosted service’s file, rate, storage, and automation limits have not been set and will be documented from the released implementation.

4.Respect people, content, and audience choices

Do not scrape personal information, publish private conversations to shame someone, or distribute content beyond the permissions you hold. Consider whether a room reveals a voice, username, location, or private detail that the person did not expect to be shared. Follow the Copyright & Content Policy for third-party material and the Community Guidelines for harassment, child safety, and unwanted contact.

5.Automation and manipulation

The proposed rules prohibit buying or selling likes and follows, using scripts to inflate engagement, manipulating discovery rankings, coordinating deceptive promotions, or abusing reporting tools. If the released product offers an API or automation interface, its permitted use and rate limits will be documented before access is granted. No API or automation permission is available at this time.

6.Reporting and action

No in-product report or appeal workflow is available on this public website. Before accounts open, the operator will publish report categories, the submission route, evidence minimization guidance, possible measures, reasons for decisions, appeal steps, and response expectations. The contact email shown elsewhere has not been verified as monitored; do not rely on it for urgent safety or security reports.

7.Technical limits and security research

Do not test a live service, bypass access controls, or view or alter another person’s data without clear authorization. A safe research policy must define the domains and releases in scope, prohibited testing, data-handling limits, and how to submit a report privately. The security-research rules and a monitored contact are not available yet. We’ll publish them before the hosted service launches.
