1.Purpose & Calm Social Philosophy

Kookey is built around rooms — shared spaces where people watch and listen together. It's not a streaming service, and it's not an algorithmic feed of posts. It is a place to hang out with friends and communities in real-time.

We believe cookies are meant to be shared. The platform is designed to be calm, minimal, and respectful of your time and privacy. Target release: Q1 2027.

2.Zero Ads & Zero Tracking

Kookey operates under a strict no-ads and no-tracking principle. We do not sell user data, profile user behavior across other apps or websites, or monetize through behavioral ad-targeting.

Discovery on Kookey is chronological and authentic. We do not manipulate your feed with outrage-generating algorithms designed to maximize screen time.

3.Content & Playback

Kookey does not require you to upload large media files. Playback is powered by synchronized player adapters (YouTube, SoundCloud, and web audio).

Users are responsible for the links they share. Kookey respects intellectual property and provides reporting mechanisms for copyright holders.

4.Private Rooms & Direct Messages

Private rooms remain completely hidden from the public snap-scroll feed and search index.

Access to private rooms is granted exclusively through tokenized invitation links delivered directly through Kookey's Direct Messages or shared privately by room hosts.

5.Self-Hosting & Instance Rights

Kookey is open by design. In addition to our official hosted service, we plan to publish self-hosting configurations and documentation so community operators can run their own private Kookey instances.

6.Account Deletion & Data Portability

Your data belongs to you. Kookey supports full account deletion with immediate data erasure, as well as straightforward data export tools.
