Your content, your choice

Control over the moments you share should be understandable and practical.

Notice: Planned Product Information

This documentation describes functionality and policies planned for the hosted Kookey social platform, targeting release in Q1 2027. The current public website is a static presentation and waitlist.

1.Keep the rights you own

The proposed approach is that hosts keep rights they hold while granting a service only the permissions it needs to provide features they choose. The Terms are proposed and uploads are not available here yet. Before the service opens, the Terms will explain the license’s audience, uses, duration, provider access, and what happens after deletion.

Third-party third-party media, music, voice chat, and other people’s images may involve rights beyond the host’s own.

2.Choose the audience

A future posting flow should say whether a room is public, limited to followers, or visible to a selected group before it is shared. Those audience options have not been implemented or verified. Details about search, recommendations, resharing, embeds, and audience changes will be provided before these sharing features are available.

Screenshots and recordings can carry content beyond its original audience. A service visibility setting cannot control every copy a recipient makes.

3.Download, removal, and account closure

The current website stores no user rooms or profiles and has no export or account-closure controls. Supported download formats, deletion steps, backup timing, and exceptions are not available yet. We’ll provide those details before registration opens. See Account Deletion & Data Export and Data Retention for current information. More service-specific details will be shared before registration opens.

4.Rights and music caveat

Keeping rights in your own work does not automatically give you rights to every song, video, voice, or other person visible in a room. The upload license has not been finalized, and the hosted service has no upload flow today. See Music & Third-party Content and Copyright & Content Policy for more about these rights.

5.How controls work

A meaningful choice says what changes, what remains visible, and what the service cannot control. For example, making a room private might stop new visitors from seeing it, but it cannot erase a copy someone already downloaded. When post removal is available, we’ll explain what happens to comments, moderation records, and backup copies. These details are not confirmed until the hosted service implements and tests them.
