Privacy by design
Make privacy a default consideration in every part of the experience.
Notice: Planned Product Information
This documentation describes functionality and policies planned for the hosted Kookey social platform, targeting release in Q1 2027. The current public website is a static presentation and waitlist.
1.Collect with purpose
A privacy-minded product asks what information a feature truly needs, who can see it, and how long it should remain. The production host and server-side logs for this public site have not been confirmed; the Privacy Notice identifies those as facts to add after configuration review.
The hosted app’s data flows and providers have not been finalized. This page will describe information used by accounts, profiles, media, messages, reports, and logs once the service is designed.
2.Give people control
Useful privacy controls are understandable at the moment they matter: when setting a profile, publishing a room, managing followers, or requesting deletion. Each control should say what changes, who can still access a record, and how long the effect takes.
Those profile, audience, message, and deletion controls are not available on the current website. We’ll describe the privacy controls once the released service and its implementation are confirmed.
3.How design decisions are reviewed
A privacy review should happen before a feature or provider changes and should identify its owner, data purposes, recipients, retention, security boundary, and user choices. The project has not published a review owner, written method, feedback route, or routine cadence. The review owner, method, feedback route, and schedule have not been confirmed yet. We’ll share them when the review process is established. A review record should state what was assessed and what remains open; it should not be presented as proof that every risk is eliminated.
4.Details to come before launch
The hosted app is not available yet, so details about information collected, who can access posts and messages, and how deletion and backups work are not confirmed. We’ll explain those details before the features are available.
