This documentation describes functionality and policies planned for the hosted Kookey social platform, targeting release in Q1 2027. The current public website is a static presentation and waitlist.
1.From capture to community
The project starts from a familiar gap: capturing a moment is easy, but giving it a personal, community-driven home is harder. kookey’s concept brings rooms together with host profiles, profile notes, and conversations.
A future host might share a round-winning room and add a separate profile note about the callout and friends who were there. Whether people can add those relationships, reactions, or conversations depends on features that are still being built.
2.A project still taking shape
kookey is a social platform in development, with a target hosted-service release in Q1 2027.

The current public website presents the project. The hosted service is in development with a Q1 2027 target; it is not a guaranteed opening date. We’ll share other milestones when they are confirmed.
4.The need behind the idea
A shared moment often makes sense first to the people who were there. A room can hold the video or music, but a short note or friend’s context can explain the timing, the joke, or the feeling that made it matter. kookey’s product idea is to bring that context closer to the media. The hosted service is still a concept in development and is not available yet.
