This documentation describes functionality and policies planned for the hosted Kookey social platform, targeting release in Q1 2027. The current public website is a static presentation and waitlist.
1.A place for the moment
kookey is a project concept for a social home for shared watching and listening, and the people around it. The hosted service is not available yet. Its intended direction is to make opening a room feel immediate while keeping ownership and hosting choices visible; the final product and supported controls will be described after they are built and verified.
The current website is a static project presentation. Visitors cannot register, open a room, follow a participant, or open a hosted profile here. The hosted social service is planned for Q1 2027, and that release target may change.
2.Small moments, shared
A surprising scene, a perfect song, a funny discovery, a late-night conversation: life is full of moments worth sharing. kookey’s concept gives shared rooms a social home where people can share the story behind a moment.
A future host might post a profile note about what they are listening to, then open a room with friends. That example describes the intended experience, not an available workflow. The playback method, audience controls, and supported media sources have not been confirmed yet. We’ll share details as they are decided.
3.Who is building it?
kookey is a project name. The organization that will operate the hosted service has not been identified publicly yet. We’ll share its name and contact details before the service opens.
4.What exists today?
Today, kookey is this public presentation site and its information pages. A visitor can read about the project and its planned policies, but cannot create an account, post a room, message another person, or pay for a service. The hosted social product remains in development with a Q1 2027 target. That date is a target rather than a confirmed opening day.

Those links will appear here when the project confirms which channels are maintained.
